CoPAL'S HELPED ANIMAL FRIENDS
Meet Rocky II and Rocky’s owner, Vicki.  Rocky is a
shepherd/boxer mix and is a very healthy 11 year old gentle,
engaging charmer.  Rocky loves to do fun dog stuff, like chase
squirrels, go for rides, and of course eat Dairy Queen vanilla
soft serve ice cream!  Vicki got Rocky when a puppy from
Nevins Farm and Rocky has become the pride of Vicki and her
parents, the family member that gets to be spoiled.  As Vicki
says, “Rocky’s birthday is everyday!”  Rocky takes turns
sitting with Vicki’s 80 year old dad on his recliner, cuddling on
the bed with Vicki’s 79 year old mother, and of course, eating
ginger snaps and chasing his squeaky toys with his “mom”,
Vicki.

Vicki came to Neighbors in Need for help with getting pet
food due to her current financial circumstance.  After working
for years at a big box store, Vicki found out she had breast
cancer.  Forced to walk away from her job due to her many
consequent health issues resulting from her chemotherapy
treatment and her courageous fight against this deadly
disease, Vicki now lives with her retired parents and relies on
their limited social security support.  She recently obtained pet
food at the NIN food pantry and much appreciates this help.
Any such support goes far on their tight budget. But Vicki gives
back as well for this help; she volunteers weekly at the food
pantry and at her church.  Vicki knows that Rocky’s love and
support helped her beat cancer and gives her the strength to
get better.

CoPAL is so pleased that with your help we are able to
ensure that Rocky remains a much loved member of Vicki’s
family.  Help us keep Rocky in his home so he doesn’t have to
make a second trip to Nevins animal shelter.
